The “F” Word

Not that “F” word.  Get your mind out of the gutter.  This is a Christian blog for crying out loud.  I am talking about this “F” word.  FEAR!!!!!  Yikes!  Fear has been coming up a lot for me lately in my coffee time with God because I am working on some new projects that take me way out of my comfort zone, including this blog.  I am putting myself out there more and I want nothing more than to retreat, abort the mission and sink back into my comfortable shell.  So what is the first thing I do when these feelings creep up for me?  I screen shot everything I can find on the subject and I will share some of my favorites below.  I don’t know who posted or created these, so I cannot give credit where it is due, but I find value in each of these.

If I had infinite money, already traveled the world, wouldn’t receive any recognition and had no FEAR what would I do?

FEAR always shows up when growth is right in front of you.  Walk forward anyway.

Every time you focus on what could go wrong, what could go right becomes blurry.  Direct your mind like you would a camera and focus on the main thing.

Every time you interrupt overthinking with action, you remind yourself that FEAR is only a thought.

Remember that the minute you take your first step into the life of your dreams, the first to greet you will be FEAR.

What is the second thing (I am working on it becoming the first) that I do when these feelings creep up for me?  I grab a coffee and have a chat with God.  God promises to comfort us in our fear, if we seek him.  Hmmmm….he didn’t say if we screenshot 5 million GIFs pertaining to fear.  He tells us in Phillipians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which extends anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Notice that praying comes before, and experiencing peace comes after, so do yourself a favor and grab a coffee and have a chat with God!
